NAOWA Assures Widows Of Assistance
The President of the Nigeria Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), 82 Division Enugu chapter, Mrs Asmau Bello, has assured widows of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army who died in active service that the association would not abandon them and their children in their present condition.
Mrs. Bello said NAOWA, would continue to identify with them, and be committed at addressing issues concerning its members. According to her since their husbands lost their lives in active service, there is need for the association to continue to give them a sense of belonging no matter the level of such support.
Presenting them with assorted food items including cash to enable them celebrate this year’s Christmas with their family members , Mrs Bello who is the wife of the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, explained that the gesture was also aimed at making the affected widows feel happy as well as a show of lolve to them especially during the festive period.
The 82 Division NAOWA president, however, advised the widows to remain prayerful at all times, as well as put their absolute trust in God who according to her, is the giver and taker of human life.
Items presented to the widows included bags of rice, tubers of yam, groundnut oil, bags of salt, among other items.
In another development, the 82 Division NAOWA, last week staged a colourful end of year party for children of the Division at the premises of 103 Battalion Awkunanaw Enugu .
Mrs. Bello in her remarks at the event which attracted over 5000 children, advised parents to always inculcate moral values in their children and wards, reasoning that as future leaders there is need for them to have proper and sound upbringing.
Represented by the president of NAOWA 103 Battalion Awkunanaw, Mrs. Grace Akpor, the GOC’s wife, explained that the children social event was put together as a way of fostering unity among the children in the barracks.
The 82 Division NAOWA boss, however enjoined youths to always shun vices capable of ruining their lives, and stressed the need for children to always engage themselves in meaningful venture, as an idle mind is always the devils workshop.
