Ekweremadu Assures Chime Of Support
The Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has assured the governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan I. Chime, of the support and cooperation of all members of the National Assembly from the state to enable him continue in his good work aimed at taking the state to greater heights and at the same time bettering the lots of the masses.
Giving the assurance while addressing the people of Udi Local Government at the Council headquarters, Udi, Chief Ekweremadu made it clear that their decision to partner with the government of Governor Chime was informed by his impressive performance and land-mark achievements in a short period in office, adding that they have no option than to support his good work in the over all interest and benefit of the people.
Governor Chime, he reasoned, had left no body in doubt about his ability to provide good governance, adding that the best way to encourage him to do more is to support him in his efforts to move the state forward, as well as support him in his bid to continue to pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years come 2011.
Using the forum to thank the people of the area for their support and prayers which had sustained him for the past eight years he has been in the Senate, Chief Ekweremadu, also promised that he would continue to make life more meaningful to them by providing them with all the needed amenities that would not only give them sense of belonging , but would make them to be proud of the Enugu West Senatorial District which he represents at the National Assembly.
He, in addition, during the occasion, informed the people of the locality of his intention to continue in the senate for the third term, come 2011,explaining that his decision to do so was informed by his concern to continue to better the lives of the people , especially the less-privileged in the state in particular and society in general.
In his brief speech, Chime, who was physically present at the occasion, warned those who are joining or re-joining the PDP so as to be known and respected as godfathers to desist from such act in their own interest as his administration would never tolerate such act in whatever form or shape.
He, however, called on the people of the area ,which is also his constituency to support Senator Ike Ekweremadu to continue at the Senate come 2011, adding that this will go a long way in enabling him continue in the good work he is doing for the people in the past eight years he has been at the Senate.
