An author, Mr Dilibe Onyeama has advised students to always focus their attention on knowledge, prayers, self control and inspiration.

He gave the advice on Friday in Enugu at a young writers’ workshop held at the Lady Ibiam Secondary School.

He also urged parents to encourage their children to buy and read inspirational books in order to develop leadership qualities at a youthful age.

“If you want to inspire other people in life, you have to read novels, listen to news, watch movies and then rest,’’ Onyeama added

Mr Joseph Emeruom, one of the speakers at the forum, advised students to turn off telephone, radio and television whenever they wanted to study so in order to concentrate.

“It is more honourable to read and fail than to cheat at examinations. The more you read, the more you develop your brain, the source of reasoning and your vocabulary. The secret of success is consistency of effort,’’ he said.

Earlier, Mr Agbo Stephen, President of the Young Creative Society of Nigeria (YCWSN), organisers of the workshop, stressed the need for creativity among the youths.

Stephen added that the youths should put in more efforts to make their ideas different and interesting to members of the public.
