SWAN Repositions, Begins Membership Revalidation

As part of efforts to reposition and move Sports Writers Association (SWAN) Rivers State chapter members of the organisation have resolved to work in unity of purpose.

The decision was contained in a release signed by the secretary of the body, Mr Olalekan Ige at the end of its monthly congress meeting held at The Tide office complex in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.

The release also said members of SWAN have been given till October 21, 2010 to ensure proper revalidation of their membership.

The body also urged intending members to collect and submit relevant forms to the secretary of SWAN within fourteen days to ensure onward transmission to the national secretariat of the association.

The statement said all those who are yet to register would be given the change to attach the necessary documents to facilitate their prompt registration.

“Congressed called on all members and intending ones to use the latest window of opportunity to rectify whatever defects noticed in their forms and supply any other information that may be required in determining their status in the association on or before October 21, 2010” the statement said.
