NDDC Assures On Improved Healthcare Delivery
The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has reiterated its determination to deliver quality health care services to the region.
The commission’s managing director, Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha, made this known at the flag-off the NDDC/Pro – Health sponsored Free Medical Mission at the General Hospital, Ukpenekang at Ibene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
“NDDC is an agency of government set up by Federal government to intervene in the needs of the people of the region, the health sector, being one of them and we shall not shy away from it”, he said.
Ugwoha, who was represented by the Executive Director, Projects, Esoetok Ikpong Etteh, said it was in that spirit the NDDC had continued to sustain the free health care programme.
“Bearing in mind that health is wealth, it is only godly to render heathcare services for you to stay alive and healthy in order to derive the maximum benefits from the wealth that God has endowed you with”, he said.
Responding, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Louiza Ukpe, assured that the state government would continue to collaborate with NDDC to deliver its mandate to the people of the region.
