Odemwingie Keen On Move To England
Osaze Odemwingie believes the time is right for him to make a move to England.
The Nigeria forward has reportedly been offered to Tottenham Hotspur in part-trade for Roman Pavlyuchenko. But he told Tidesports source that he was not planning to renew his contract, which has a year to run, with Lokomotiv Moscow, in any case.
“I think I am ripe enough now as a player to move to England. I am more experienced now, a better player.
“Maybe now, I can show my talent in a big league. I am working towards it. I have a one-year contract left in Moscow, and I am not extending it, so maybe this summer after the World Cup, I might make a move.”
The 28 year old insists, though, that he will only make the move if it is to a big club.
“I cannot say for sure it’s going to be England, you never know. But that’s where I am working towards. If I get a good offer from a good club, I would like to move there. But it has to be a good club, a big club.
“Otherwise, if I have another offer from another country from a big club, I will take it.”
Odemwingie surprised a lot of his countrymen when he moved to the far east from French club Lille, but he says he has no regrets.
“Everything happens for a reason. There was a reason why life took me to Russia. There were many pluses in my move to Russia. A few minuses too, I can say. But I am satisfied with the way my career has progressed.
“Now I think the time has come where I can make that happen, to move to the Premiership.”
