The state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Chuks Ugwoke, said that the State Executive Council, approved these measures during its meeting after receiving an update efforts by the Management of the Authority to tackle the issue of refuse disposal and management in the state.

Mr. Ugwoke said that government was worried about the problem of waste disposal in the state in the recent times and assured residents of Enugu and Nsukka Urban that as very responsive government always alive to its responsibility, the problem will be taken care of in a matter of weeks.

The commissioner who was addressing the press shortly after the councils meeting chaired by the Governor, Mr. Chime, said that members approved the establishment of the state Road Maintenance Agency to rehabilitate and maintain state roads.
