The Nigeria Football Federation is calling for entries for a unique ‘World Cup Song’ for the national football team, Super Eagles, for this year’s FIFA World Cup finals.

General Secretary, Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba stated in Abuja on Wednesday that “this is a song that will be put together to be sung specifically for the Super Eagles at the World Cup finals in South Africa.

“We call for entries from Nigerians, musicians and others who feel they have the ability, to submit a unique, moving song that can gear the team wonderfully either on or off the pitch in South Africa,” said Ojo-Oba.

He added: “We know that the Nigeria Football Supporters Club usually sing some lovely songs at major tournaments like the World Cup and we certainly appreciate all that they have been doing over the decades. But the desire here is for something very, very special.”

The winning song will be unveiled at a launch that will be witnessed by major players in the game, including top officials of the Presidential Task Force, National Sports Commission, NFF, NFF’s sponsors, stakeholders and other dignitaries.
