PCRC Chairman Wants Police Station At Ogu/Bolo

The chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogu/Bolo Police Division, Hon. Promise Wakama has expressed the need for a befitting police station in the area.

Hon. Wakama, who made this assertion during the end of year party organised by the body at Ogu last weekend, said it is disheartening that Ogu, the headquarters of the local government cannot boast of a befitting police station, adding that for the police to occupy the same building with school pupils is appalling.

He appealed to the local government council to consider building a befitting police station as a priority, so that the police in the area could perform their duties effectively.

Hon. Wakama, who was represented by Sir Anidikima Alabo, called for all hands to be on deck as security of life and property is a collective responsibility, and enjoined the people of the area to do everything possible to ensure a befitting police station is built in the area.

According to him, the members of PCRC in the area would continue to do their best through service to humanity and assured that they would always assist the police to carry out their duties effectively.

In his remarks, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogu/Bolo Division, Mr. E. Benjamin thanked members for their zeal and love to work with the police for effective community policing, and appealed to them not to relent.

Mr. Benjamin called on PCRC members to muster strength and assist the police place their predicaments of a police station, repair of patrol van, quarters for the officers among others before the authorities as partners in progress for better services to the people.

In his vote of thanks, the PRO of the organisation, Mr. Sylvanus Buochuama thanked all for making the occasion a huge success and enjoined members to keep up the spirit of service to humanity.
