Gospel Artiste Lunches New Album In PH

A Lagos-based Rivers born female musical artiste, Rachael jerry I. Achichie has launched her maiden gospel album tilted “survive through Jesus.”

The eight track album, with melodies such as “when the lord is on your side, why should you be afraid, Thank you God, The Ten Commandments and Jesus is the key to success”, is for people to listen to the teachings of God through music and change their lives.

The female musician, who hail from Bolo in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area had been a member of performing musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) since 1989, when she produced her first album titled, “close to me” in 1982, said she would have come out with other albums but dive to some obstacles and family life.

Racheal jerry I. Achichie, the daughter of late Archdeacon J.K.T. Ibiayemie was born and raised up in the Anglican Missionary where she started singing as a chorister, for five years, before she went into professional music, which she said is in the blood of other family as everybody sings.

In a chat the gospel musician he hinted that music is a talent giving by God and one could excel when the person makes good use of his or her talent.

On the difficulties she faced as a female gospel artistle, the 48 years old artist said their has been competitiveness with their male counterparts, promoters, marketers and pirates which she noted had eaten deep into the marrows of the pirates, and called on government not to relent on their efforts in flushing out this ‘bad eggs”, to safe the industry.

She also appealed to musicians to dress corporately rather than dreadlocks and looking dirty, adding that they should also be educated in order to enable them write, compose and sing their songs fluently.

Rachael jerry I. Achichie disclosed that she decided to unveil her gospel album here in Rivers State to promote the gospel of God, which was produced at Lira Piracy, and called for marketers to sign contract with her to purcfhase the album in bulk for sale.
