Penawou Cup Title Pursuit Kicks-Off Weekend
All is now set for the official kick-off of the maiden edition of Penawou Peace/Unity Cup tourney in the riverine town of Bomadi, Bomadi Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State.
A statement by the chairman of the local organizing committee, Charles Carter says the opening ceremony will be played this weekend at the Government College, Bomadi, where host, Bomadi, will take on Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State at 3.00p.m.
The statement added that on Sunday, Udu will trade tackles with Patani by 2.00p.m, while two matches will be played simultaneously by 4.00p.m with Burutu and Ugheli South slugging it out at Olou Primary school, and Warri South-West doing battle with Sagbama.
After a day off, action will resume on Tuesday for the semi-final matches, while the third place match will come up on Friday at Olou Primary School, while the final is billed for this weekend at Government College.
Meanwhile, the medals and trophy for the winners have all arrived the country from London, while the organisrs have put in place all logistics for a successful hosting of the football tournament, expected to foster peace and unity among local council areas in Delta and Bayelsa states.
