IFBB To Organise Maiden League In Nigeria
The Body Building Federation of Nigeria has put in place all necessary arrangements to organize a competition christened the International Federation of Body Building (IFBB), Fitness and Body Building league next year.
This was made known by the President of the BBFN, Mr Soye Elekima recently during an exclusive interview with Tide sports in Port Harcourt.
Mr Elekima said the aim of the league is to produce a formidable team capable of representing Nigeria in the forth-coming 2010 World Ultimate Men’s Classics scheduled to hold in Baku, Azerbaijan, November, next year.
He continued that each gymnasium in the country is expected to come with six to seven body builders as a team to participate in different categories, saying that, these teams would contest in the league and the best team would represent Nigeria in the finals at the world level.
According to Mr Elekima, the league would kick-off from the zonal levels to the qualifiers and then to the eliminations stage from where the winning team will be picked.
The president noted that, athletes are already warming up for the task ahead in order to be able to cope with the challenges associated with the league.
It would be recalled that Rivers State-born body building Pinigey Odum recently placed 4th in the recently-concluded 63rd (IFBB), World Body Building championship, which took place in Doha, Quatar.
