UNIPORT Alumni Preach Unity, Patriotism At Easter
The University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association has felicitated with Christians in the state on the occasion of the celebration of Easter, urging them to work together for the peace and unity of the country.
The National President of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, Pastor Ule Williams Glad on behalf of NEC and the entire Alumni Association has felicitated with Nigerians, particularly Christians at the 2022 Easter celebration which marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, saying it affords the country opportunity for sober reflection on the journey of nationhood so far.
“The association urges citizens to shun embers of divisiveness but work towards strengthening the bond of unity, faith and love for harmonious co-existence as a sure way to foster national development”, the association said.
The association said this in a release on Saturday signed by its National President, Pst. Ule Williams Glad.
He called on citizens to take a queue from the examplary life of Christ who gave Himself as a ransom for the salvation of mankind .
The passion of Christ demonstrated in his resilience and sacrifice on the cross was born out of love for a lost humanity.
Glad charged citizens to shun inflammatory utterances that would further threaten the nation’s fragile peace, especially as the 2023 general elections approach, appealing that patriotism should be the watchword at all times.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
