College Expels Students Over Misconduct
Stella Maris College (SMC), Port Harcourt, has expelled two of her students for stealing and committing homosexual acts.
The Principal of the College, Rev. Father Fabian Nwaeke, who announced this last week while addressing students and parents at the College before the mid-term break, said other two students were given internal suspension for one week with a corresponding corporal punishment.
Rev. Fr. Nwaeke noted that the college population has risen to two hundred, stressing that arrangement has been concluded to inter-lock the entire college premises.
According to him “Two central water heaters have been installed in the college for students use, while new Principal’s house and kitchen are almost ready”.
“Our students are now making good use of our state of the art college Library and ICT centre. Power is also stable as a result of the 40KVA generator set donated by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).
Rev. Fr. Nwaeke who has been transfered has handed over to Rev. Fr. Anthony Bekel last Wednesday while Brother Dukue John Lawrence takes over as the new Senior Seminarian.
He, however, said arrangement for College Clinic has been concluded, adding that experts would be involved in the proper care of the students.
Rev. Fr. Nwaeke said Stella Maris College old Boys has embarked on beautifying the school by renovating the College staff room and the Vice Principal’s office.
