CLO Compiles List Of ‘Corrupt’ Bayelsans
Bayelsa State Chapter of Civil Liberty Organisation says it has listed the names of 300 most corrupt people in the state and forwarded same to Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for actions.
Chairman of the organisation, Mr. Prieye Olomu told newsmen in Yenagoa that the list contains the names of former and serving public officers in the state.
Among them, he disclosed are civil servants politicians, local government personnel’s, and all those suspected to have acquired their wealth through cheatings and other illegal means.
He said EFCC will assist to compel them to tell Bayelsans how they got their wealth when we know they are not business men.
According to him, serving and retired government officials in the state would explain the source of their wealth.
The CLO pointed out that since corruption is not a birthright it will not be allowed to continue, saying that even the state government is not transparent in its transparency initiative.
We want our money to be spent on roads, electricity and potable water for the people”, Mr. Oloum declared.
