\nbal system of mobile communication (GSM) in Port Harcourt are still awaiting full operation of the number portability service as promised by the telecommunication network operators in the country.
\nA cross section of subscribers who spoke\u00a0 with The Tide Wednesday in Port Harcourt, said the number portability service was yet to be visible in the area.
\nAccording to them, it was difficult to see any subscriber, who is using the service,\u00a0 adding\u00a0 that the vision may not be\u00a0 achieved, after all.
\nA subscriber, Kate Igwe, told our reporter, that she has repeatedly contacted\u00a0 her net work provider over the issue without any tangible reason for the delay.
\nShe wondered why subscribers in the\u00a0 country would be deceived\u00a0 over a particular service, saying that Nigerians must learn how to take legal actions against the regulations and service providers.
\nAnother respondent, Mr. Ferguson Nwile, said\u00a0 the member portability scheme would have been he best option, if operations were serious about it.
\nHe noted that most subscribers in the country were interested in the service due to its potable outlook, but regretted that the service was yet to be operational.
\nOthers told\u00a0 The Tide that the Federal Government should rise to the occasion and ensure that telecom companies are brought to book should they paid to make the service workable in the country.
\nMeanwhile, a top mangemnt staff of the Nigerian Communication Commission in Port Harcourt, said that both the government and the telecommunications companies are working together\u00a0 to ensure\u00a0 that number portability comes to stay.
