As the Information
\nand Communication Technology (ICT) system continues to gain\u00a0 fast entrance\u00a0 into\u00a0 all sectors of the economy, the Nigeria Customs Service\u00a0 (NCS) says it would ensure\u00a0 that its\u00a0 officers\u00a0 and men benefit\u00a0 from the\u00a0 package.
\nTo that end, the outfit has revealed that a\u00a0 total\u00a0 of 105 officers have been nominated\u00a0 for computer application\u00a0 and common external, tariff\u00a0 trainings.
\nThe Assistant Comptroler-General, NCS, Mrs I.O Okoli\u00a0 stated this recently in a\u00a0 TV programme monitored\u00a0 in Port Harcourt.
\nShe said the trainings would commence next\u00a0 month\u00a0 with officers in Abuja\u00a0 and Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
\nOkoli, noted that the\u00a0 officers of the approved\u00a0 participants for the training would settle for ICT foundation\u00a0 computer application.
\nAccording to her, the exercise\u00a0 would be held at its command and staff college\u00a0 Gwagwalada in the\u00a0 Federal capital territory.
\nShe further hinted that the other 30 Batch Two Officers would have their\u00a0 turn at the\u00a0\u00a0 Giz: ECOWAS capacity building on common external (CET) slated for zone c, in Port Harcourt in September 2014.
\nThe NCS boss, stressed that the\u00a0 training was important to all concerned\u00a0 persons,\u00a0 following the global quest for ICT knowledge.
\nShe charged\u00a0 the officers to put in their best for the\u00a0 exercise, adding that the\u00a0 programme would upgrade their capacity towards\u00a0 contributing\u00a0 positively to the growth of the country\u2019s economy.
\nThough, no specific\u00a0 date in September has been fixed\u00a0 for the ICT training, but pudits are of the view that it would not exceed the\u00a0\u00a0 third week\u00a0 of next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
