But in actual fact, she was not pregnant and was never pregnant. Rather, what they did was hypnotise those women who believed that they were pregnant. They are injected with substances which enlarged their stomach, he said.
They will then place them on treatment for nine months. Before delivery, this syndicate makes arrangement to procure the babies and once the arrangement matured, they will take the women to the threatre or labour room”, he added.
The assistant Commissioner of Police said that at this point, the doctor will inject the women with drugs that will make them unconscious, adding that the women are them leathered with blood all over their body.
According to him, the same blood will also be used on the child, so when she regains consciousness, they will now handover the baby to her, claiming that she had delivered, adding that they will start the second round of treatment, which according to him, is deflate her swollen stomach.
He revealed that most women have fallen victims and it has been going on for years, adding that the services are done at exorbitant prices of between N1.5million and N6million per child.
Iwu added that the recovered baby is at the motherless baby’s home at Borikiri, Port Harcourt.
In her reaction, the suspect said she was a qualified and licensed medical doctor, who has been in practice for years.
She stated that she had never defrauded anybody or committed any crime, revealing her medical practice registration number as 348 from the Nigerian Medical Council, Abuja.
On their part, the couple said they were involved in the crime because of severe accommodation problem they were facing.

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a fake medical doctor and a specialist in-vitro fertilisation treatment service, Dr Chinyere Emeka Precious, who allegedly induce women with fake pregnancies in the state.
