Two men, who allegedly stole four ATM cards and used them to
\nwithdraw some money, were on Thursday charged before a Surulere Magistrates\u2019
\nCourt, Lagos.<\/p>\n
The accused \u2014 Ahmed Balogun, 27, and Ganiyu Rabiu, 30 \u2014 are
\nfacing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and receiving stolen goods.<\/p>\n
Balogun resides at 37, Glover Street on Lagos Island, while
\nRabiu lives at 7, Toluwalase Street, Oworoshoki.<\/p>\n
The prosecutor, Cpl. Samuel Ishola, told the court that the
\naccused stole a wallet containing four ATM cards of GTBank, Diamond Bank,
\nZenith Bank, and Barclays Bank.<\/p>\n
According to him, the first accused, Balogun, used one of
\nthe cards to withdraw N101, 000 from an account belonging to Ogechi Onyemem.<\/p>\n
Other items in the wallet are a driver\u2019s licence and N10,
\n000, Ishola said.<\/p>\n
He said the offences were committed at 5.45 p.m. at Shoprite
\nShopping Mall, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe complainant said she discovered the fraudulent
\nwithdrawals when she was alerted by her bank,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
Ishola said the second accused, Rabiu, received some stolen
\nitems, including a BlackBerry mobile phone and N8, 000 cash.<\/p>\n
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 285,
\n326 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.<\/p>\n
Magistrate A. Tobi granted the accused bail without an
\namount fixed to it, and two sureties each.<\/p>\n
