Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti has appointed Mr Kayode
\nAkinyemi as the Director General of the newly-created Bureau of Strategic
\nCommunications.<\/p>\n
This was contained in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on
\nMonday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode.<\/p>\n
The Bureau, according to the release, was created to
\nconceptualise and coordinate the communication initiatives of government and
\npromote its eight-point agenda.<\/p>\n
Akinyemi, whose appointment takes immediate effect, is a
\njournalist, broadcaster and Advertising\/Public Relations Practitioner with
\nexperience in marketing communications.<\/p>\n
He was until his appointment the official representative of
\nthe British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Akinyemi had also served as Head of Corporate Communications
\nat Skye Bank Plc where he was in charge of the bank\u2019s internal and external
\ncommunications.<\/p>\n
He was born on March 1, 1966, in Afao- Ekiti,
\nIfelodun\/Irepodun Local Government Area of Ekiti.<\/p>\n
Akinyemi read Mass Communication and started his career as a
\nReporter with Radio Nigeria in 1988 before he ventured into Public Relations
