Students who applied for the apptitude test screening
\nexercise in Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Nkpolu,
\nPort Harcourt, have lauded the management of the institution over\u00a0 the ongoing
\ne-examination.<\/p>\n
According to them, the eletronic process has drastically
\nredused examination malpractice and other issues as students get their results
\nimmediately.<\/p>\n
One who gave her name as Joy Owhor, said though the exercise
\nis tedious as many students<\/p>\n
are yet to embrace the Information Technology(IT) world, but
\nexpressed\u00a0 satisfaction as students are
\nno longer robbed of their marks.<\/p>\n
Owhor explained that before the e-electronic system,
\nexaminers take undue advantage of students especially the female ones in the
\nguise of increasing their mark.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the whole process, she regretted that
\nintending law students were tested more in the area of Mathematics and
\nEconomics.<\/p>\n
She argued that most Arts students are not very good in
\nMathematics, adding that the e-syestem worsen the exercise for them.<\/p>\n
The intending law student was\u00a0 of the view that, intending law students be
\ntested more on Arts subjects in order to enhance their performance.<\/p>\n
The Tide gathered that the e-examination system for the
\nintending students of RSUST is one of the best thing that have happend to the
\ninstitution so far.<\/p>\n
Other students who also spoke with our reporter,
\nsuggested\u00a0 that e- examintion should be
\nintroduced for other exams in the campus.<\/p>\n
According to them, most campuses\u00a0 across the globe have fully embraced IT
\ndevelopment as one of the innovations of the 21st century.<\/p>\n
They lamented that it was unfair to only test the intending
\nstudents electronically, saying that continuous process will produce ICT gurus
\nfrom among them.<\/p>\n
A\u00a0 youth activist and
\nPresident of the Niger Delta Coalition Against Violence(NDCAV), Comrade
\nChristain Bariledum Lekia, also commended Prof Barinene Fakae over his role in
\nthe e-technology\u00a0 of the university.<\/p>\n
Lekia said, the development is one of Fakae\u2019s initiatives to
