{"id":350774,"date":"2025-12-22T02:04:03","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T01:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=350774"},"modified":"2025-12-21T22:09:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T21:09:08","slug":"marine-blue-economy-ministry-launches-digital-platform-to-drive-transparency-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=350774","title":{"rendered":"\u00a0MARINE\/BLUE ECONOMY MINISTRY LAUNCHES DIGITAL PLATFORM TO DRIVE TRANSPARENCY, EFFICIENCY\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"tVu25 pOo5De\">\n<div class=\"nH a4O\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH aqk aql bkL\">\n<div class=\"nH bkK\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH ar4 z\">\n<div class=\"aeI\">\n<div class=\"AO\">\n<div id=\":3\" class=\"Tm aeJ cgjhk\">\n<div id=\":1\" class=\"aeF\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\" role=\"main\">\n<div class=\"nH g\">\n<div class=\"nH a98 iY\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"aHU hx\">\n<div role=\"list\">\n<div class=\"h7 ie\" tabindex=\"-1\" role=\"listitem\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"Bk\">\n<div class=\"G3 G2\">\n<div id=\"avWBGd-301\">\n<div id=\"avWBGd-302\">\n<div class=\"adn ads\" data-message-id=\"#msg-f:1852099194738553430\" data-legacy-message-id=\"19b3fa679f2db256\">\n<div class=\"gs\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div id=\":zw\" class=\"ii gt\">\n<div id=\":102\" class=\"a3s aiL\">\n<div id=\"avWBGd-325\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy on Wednesday officially launched its Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS), marking a major milestone in the Ministry\u2019s digital transformation and institutional reform agenda.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to a statement, the launch was jointly performed by the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, during the Ministry\u2019s Fourth Quarter 2025 Stakeholders and Citizens Engagement l, Abuja.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The engagement, which attracted a wide spectrum of stakeholders from across the marine and blue economy value chain, was held under the theme: \u201cPositioning Nigeria\u2019s Marine and Blue Economy for Investment, Innovation and Expansion: The Pathway.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Delivering his keynote address, Dr. Oyetola described the engagement as a defining moment in Nigeria\u2019s drive to reposition the marine and blue economy as a critical pillar of economic diversification, growth, and global competitiveness.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He noted that the forum was deliberately designed to deepen transparency, accountability, partnership, and shared ownership of reforms in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking on the launch of the ECMS, the Minister described the platform as a strategic investment that goes beyond internal administration to drive efficiency, transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery.\u201cA digitally enabled Ministry is a more responsive Ministry,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThrough the ECMS, we are streamlining workflows, strengthening records management, improving decision-making, and enhancing our capacity to support investors, operators, and partners with speed, clarity, and integrity.\u201dHighlighting the strategic importance of the sector.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Dr. Oyetola said Nigeria\u2019s extensive coastline, vast inland waterways, and strategic geographic location provide unique opportunities to harness maritime trade, fisheries, aquaculture, logistics, tourism, and allied services for inclusive growth, job creation, and regional integration.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He outlined key achievements recorded by the Ministry over the past year, particularly in fisheries and aquaculture, where local fish production increased from 1.1 million metric tonnes to 1.4 million metric tonnes.
