{"id":348172,"date":"2025-09-29T01:00:19","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T00:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=348172"},"modified":"2025-09-28T16:30:30","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T15:30:30","slug":"customs-wives-donate-mosquito-nets-bedsheets-to-hospitals-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=348172","title":{"rendered":"Customs Wives Donate Mosquito Nets, Bedsheets To Hospitals In Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Customs Officers\u2019 Wives Association (COWA), Ogun I Command Chapter, Idiroko, has donated mosquito nets and 50 pieces of bed sheets to General Hospital and Medical Center in Idiroko.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Command&#8217;s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Zakari Chado, who disclosed this in a Statement made available to newsmen, said the initiative was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to give back to the society.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking during the exercise, COWA Chairman, Mrs. Fausat Otunla emphasised that the initiative was part of COWA\u2019s commitment to community development and the well-being of families within and around Idiroko.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Otunla reiterated the Association\u2019s resolve to continually support health institutions and enhance the living conditions of the people.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThis CSR activity underscores the compassionate vision of COWA and its contribution to the health and welfare of communities,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement noted that, Chairman of COWA, Mrs. Fausat Otunla was received by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Kilanko Margaret, chief matron and other members of staff, who took the visitors on a tour of the hospital.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe visitors were taken on a guided tour of the hospital wards where patients and pregnant women attending antenatal clinics were presented with mosquito nets.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cIn addition, the Association also donated 50 pieces of bed sheets to the hospital,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Responding, the Chief Medical Director CMD Dr. Kilanko Margaret, expressed gratitude for the benevolence of COWA, saying that the donations would go a long way in improving patients\u2019 welfare.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">She assured the association of the hospital\u2019s readiness to extend medical outreach to COWA members and their spouses.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Also Speaking, Mrs. Sodiq Ola, who spoke on behalf of pregnant women, thanked COWA for the thoughtful gifts and offered prayers for the continued success and well-being of the association.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Similarly, COWA donated mosquito nets and customised bed sheets at Customs Medical Center, Idiroko<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The items were received with great appreciation by Superintendent of Customs (SC) Dr. Abdulmalik Zakariyyah on behalf of the medical staff, who conveyed their appreciation to the association for impactful support.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">By: Chinedu Wosu<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Customs Officers\u2019 Wives Association (COWA), Ogun I Command Chapter, Idiroko, has donated mosquito nets and 50 pieces of bed sheets to General Hospital and Medical Center in Idiroko.
