{"id":331309,"date":"2024-04-22T06:25:58","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T05:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=331309"},"modified":"2024-04-22T06:25:58","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T05:25:58","slug":"tin-can-ncs-generates-n303-9bn-in-q1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=331309","title":{"rendered":"Tin Can NCS Generates N303.9bn In Q1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tin Can Island Port Command, says it recorded a total revenue collection of \u00a6 303.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024.<br \/>\nThis was made known by the Area Controller, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, during an interview with newsmen<br \/>\nThe Command, he said, generated N126.8 billion in 2023.<br \/>\n\u201cI sincerely wish to congratulate officers and men of the Command for embracing service delivery for our stakeholders and for teamwork which resulted to the Area Command surpassing its first quarter revenue target for 2024 by 139 percent with a difference of N177 million, when compared to the same period of the year 2023.<br \/>\n\u201cAll effort put into place by all Units in the Area Command for this success recorded is highly appreciated\u201d, he said.<br \/>\nNnadi noted that the Command collected a total of \u00a6 88.4 billion in January 2024, indicating a 107.9percent upscale from the revenue collected for same period of January 2023; 42.5 billion.<br \/>\n\u201cIn February 2024, the Command generated N100.3 billion. This is 141.8percent higher than the value collected in the same period in 2023, which is N41.5 billion.<br \/>\n\u201cIn March 2024, the Command recorded the sum N115.1 billion as against the N 42.8 billion collected for March 30 2023; this is 163.9percent increase.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Command\u2019s Enforcement and Anti-Smuggling Unit has not relented in its effort to combat smuggling and all forms of criminality. Customs being the lead Agency at the Ports through its Enforcement Unit has coordinated several 100percent physical examination under my supervision in collaboration with critical stakeholders to ensure that the command is freed of any form of non-compliance in line with the International trade cycle\u201d, Nnadi said.<br \/>\nHe stated further that \u201ca total of 57 packets of Heroine weighing 56.390kg with a street value of \u00a6 902.2 million; 3612 packets of Colorado weighing 956.772kg with a street value of N4.1 billion were seized from smugglers<br \/>\nHe noted that all seized illicit drugs have been handed over to the relevant sister agencies as directed by the Service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tin Can Island Port Command, says it recorded a total revenue collection of \u00a6 303.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
