The Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) has called on the Bauchi State Government to establish an ultra modern technology -driven mechanic village in the meropolis.
\nThe Chairman of NATA, Alhaji Salisu Alin-Bababa, made the call in an interview with The Tide\u2019s source in Bauchi on Wednesday.
\nHe said this would reduce the activities of quacks, mostly operating on the roadside.
\n\u201cHundreds of residents mechanics practise the trade in an analogue manner as they lacked a technologically equiped mechanic village. They conduct their trade by the road sides thereby obstructing traffic and contravening environmental laws\u201d,\u00a0 he said.
\nAlin-baba said members of the association will also be adequately trained in order to improve their skills in handling newly-manufactured vehicles coming with modern technology.
\n\u201cThis would go a long way in reorganising the profession in line with the best practices as well as improve skills\u201d, he said.
