The Director General of Teen Ambassador Foundation (TAF), Mr Paul Adiwu, has challenged the Federal Government on the need to invest more on teenagers in Information Communication Technology (ICT) across the country.
\nAdiwu gave the charge recently during the closing ceremony of a summer programme organised by \u201cTeen Ambassador Foundation\u201d, in collaboration with the \u201cNet Access Communication Limited\u201d.
\nThe summer programme, which began on July 24 and ended on the 2nd of September, 2023, was targeted at training teenagers and youth in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Education with Robotics.
\nHe stated that the Centre was not a training institute, but explained that the event was\u00a0 borne out of his passion to develop the potentials of the Kids in the country.
\nAccording to him,\u00a0 his passion was to expose the kids to science technology engineering, mathematics, and robotics by employing experts to engage them.
\nThe Tide\u2019s source reports that several teenagers and youths were trained in robotics and were presented with certificates, while some of them demonstrated what they had learned in robotics.
\nThe Head, Legal Enforcement and Regulation of Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Mr. Babatunde Bamigboye,\u00a0 warned Nigerians, especially teenagers, against sharing personal information on the internet.
\nBamigboye, who spoke on behalf of\u00a0 the Director General of the Commission, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, said Nigerians should be wary of putting all their data on the internet so as to keep people off from knowing everything about them.
\n\u201cAt the Commission, we protect data, and most of what you will need to develop apps depends on data. You must protect your information when you go online. It is important that this forms part of our curriculum as teacher of children because they are now exposed to what adults are exposed to\u201d, he said.
\nOlatunji said he was hopeful that from the kids who attended the summer organised by Teen Ambassador, the country would have renowned innovators among them.
\nHe also commended TAF for organising such a programme to keep the children busy during the holiday while assuring the teenagers that 20 years from now they would remember today and thank the organiser.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
