The Manager, Extrenal Communication, Nigeria Digital Identification for Development (NDID4D), Malam Mourktar Adamu, has said the NDID4D project was set to partner with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on the pilot identity enrollment in the Federal Capital Territory.
\nMaking this known in a statement\u00a0 in Abuja, weekend, Adamu said the agreement was sealed following a courtesy visit by the National Coordinator of NDID4D, Mr Solomon Odole, who led a delegation to the NOA headquarters.
\nThe Tide source learnt that the enrollment will also take place in six states representing the geopolitical zones in the country in February 2023.
\nEarlier, Odole said the project needed NOA to scale its awareness creation and sensitisation activities in the six Area Councils of the FCT.
\nHe reiterated the project\u2019s overarching goal of increasing the number of persons in the country having a National Identity Number (NIN) and upgrading infrastructure at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
\n\u201cThis is so as to be able to enroll in marginalised and hard-to-reach communities up to no fewer than 250 million persons during the project\u2019s life cycle,\u201d\u00a0 he explained.
\nThe Director-General, NOA, Dr Dauda Abari, commended NDID4D for its good work, adding that NOA had been involved in digital identification and NIMC.
\nAbari also lauded the performance of NIMC in attaining over 90 million enrollees, saying that NOA is proud to be part of the commission\u2019s success story.
\nThe DG pledged the commitment of the agency to the partnership and looked forward to its pilot enrollment programme in 2023 to which it can deploy mobile vans equipped with jingles in different languages.
\nThis, he said, would sensitise communities, markets, places of worship and palaces.
\nAbari added that NOA was also amenable to signing an MoU with the project to seal the partnership.
\nHe promised that the agency would work with the project on the MoU to boost the enrollment figures and ensure that no one was left behind.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
