{"id":262188,"date":"2021-05-05T05:07:05","date_gmt":"2021-05-05T04:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=262188"},"modified":"2021-05-05T05:08:24","modified_gmt":"2021-05-05T04:08:24","slug":"rivers-ict-department-set-to-train-500-participants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=262188","title":{"rendered":"Rivers ICT Department Set To Train 500 Participants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rivers State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department says it has concluded plans to train another 500 participants in ICT.<br \/>\nThis was contained in the training schedule of the Department made available to the public in \u00a0Port Harcourt, recently.<br \/>\nThe schedule shows that the exercise will last for three months, accommodating all participants at a stretch.<br \/>\nThe three-month progra-mme codenamed \u2018Codegam-inator\u2019, will include Coding, Games Development and Animations Development.<br \/>\nOthers are Cyber Security, Database Administration (DBA), Design (UI\/UX), Photography and Cinematography, as well as Hardware and Networking.<br \/>\nThe Tide learnt that the training is expected to cost N60,000 per participant, but has already been defrayed by some companies and well meaning individuals in the state.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, some interested members of the public have called on the ICT Department to extend the deadline for registration by two weeks to allow more participation in the programme.<br \/>\nOne of such persons was Mr Azuka Chukumgba, who claimed that the notice was not made public early enough.<br \/>\nChukumgba pleaded that the deadline for registration should be extended by additional 14 days, using search means as an excuse.<br \/>\nThe registration exercise was expected to have ended on April 30, 2021.<br \/>\nThe ICT Department is, however, yet to fix the date for the commencement of the training programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By:\u00a0King Onunwor<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rivers State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department says it has concluded plans to train another 500 participants in ICT.
