Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Justice Anthony Aniagolu, has advised\u00a0 Nigerian youths to take their future in their own\u00a0 hands by learning how to begin life\u00a0 in a very humble\u00a0 way.<\/p>\n
Justice Aniagolu, 86, who gave the advice Thursday, while\u00a0 briefing newsmen in Enugu on the preparations\u00a0 so far made\u00a0 towards launching in Abuja the federal capital territory on September 24, his autobiography, also urged the younger ones to always keep faith in the Almighty God\u00a0 in everything they do in this life.<\/p>\n
His words: \u201cFaith in God is absolutely necessary for\u00a0 any one to get on in this world. Engaging in all kinds of youth restiveness does not help because\u00a0 everybody must one day give account of how he\/she lived\u00a0 his\/her before the Almighty God. I get frightened whenever I hear about kidnapping and\u00a0\u00a0 other criminal\u00a0 acts now common among\u00a0 some of the youths in Nigeria \u201c, reminding them that the Almighty God is wonderful and merciful to those who trust in Him.<\/p>\n
Commenting on his 340 page\u00a0 autobiography edited jointly by Philip Effion and Charles Chuka Aniagolu,\u00a0 while the original research was carried out by\u00a0 Dan\u00a0 Chima Amadi, Justice Aniagolu explained that the book was the one in which he detailed his public life in the country.<\/p>\n
The aim of writing the\u00a0 book, he went on, was also to educate the younger ones that hard work and keeping faith in the Almighty God pays, rather than engaging in all kinds of vices that might end up ruining their lives, adding that, \u201cNigerians will certainly enjoy the book which is in two parts, thick and soft cover, respectively.<\/p>\n
Continuing, Justice Aniagolu further said: \u201cThe book also deals with my school life and everything that goes with it. I have taken time to have the book written. I am a man brought up in difficult circumstances.\u00a0 I am now 86 years of age.\u00a0 I started my primary school\u00a0 in Eke in Udi local government area of Enugu State. I began in hardship,\u00a0 many people who knew me are now surprised over how the\u00a0 Almighty God\u00a0 has lifted me up. I am grateful to God\u00a0 for He has done wonders\u00a0 for me\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n
Justice Aniagolu while turning to journalists also declared: \u201c Tell everybody that the\u00a0 Almighty God is alive and in charge of everything including our lives. The Almighty God is wonderful and merciful. I prayed to God to let me publish this book before I die as it will make the younger ones\u00a0 take their future in their hands learning how to begin in a very humble manner. The Almighty God gave me a wonderful brain. I want all of you to thank God as\u00a0 I always thank Him. Everything is thanks, thanks, and thanks\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
Justice Aniagolu maintained that on his return from London , he began\u00a0 his legal practice at a magistrate court where he won the first case he tried, adding \u201c I\u00a0 thank\u00a0 God from the bottom of\u00a0 my heart . I sacrifice myself to Almighty God for ever. Every word of this book\u00a0 is offered\u00a0 and dedicated to Almighty God.\u201d<\/p>\n
He revealed that his legal carrier\u00a0 began in London where he pursued externally intermediate LL.B\u00a0\u00a0 London , adding that while traveling\u00a0 to London, he was in the same ship (S.S. Mandora) with the late great Zik of Africa as plane was not common then.<\/p>\n
Using the forum to comment on the death of Chief\u00a0 Gani\u00a0 Fawhami, Justice Aniagolu described it as a great loss to Nigeria , adding that,\u00a0 Gani was a great man throughout his life on earth.<\/p>\n
