{"id":223102,"date":"2019-12-23T02:09:50","date_gmt":"2019-12-23T01:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=223102"},"modified":"2019-12-23T02:09:50","modified_gmt":"2019-12-23T01:09:50","slug":"nis-gives-deadline-for-e-registration-of-foreign-migrants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=223102","title":{"rendered":"NIS Gives Deadline For  E-Registration Of  Foreign Migrants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cross River Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has called on foreign migrants, who are yet to be captured in its database, to do so before the January 2020 deadline.<br \/>\nThe Comptroller of NIS in the state, Mr Okey Ezugwu, made the call during the end of year party held at the Command\u2019s headquarters to celebrate the year\u2019s activities in Calabar.<br \/>\nEzugwu said that the Federal Government gave six months for the migrants to register for free in the NIS database so that they can be accounted for.<br \/>\nAccording to him, the command cannot guarantee the stay of any migrant that fails to register within the stipulated period in the state, our correspondence reports.<br \/>\n\u201cThe government is magnanimous enough to say whether your status is okay or not, it should be documented that you reside in Nigeria.
