Christian faithful from all walks of life, last Friday night gathered at the Saint Paul\u2019s Anglican Cathedral in Port Harcourt for the Service of Songs in honour of the late Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Hon Emmanuel Aguma (SAN).
\nHymn after hymn outlined the transient nature of human existence and the importance of placing God first in everything on earth.
\nThe Saint Paul\u2019s Anglican Cathedral Choir and the King\u2019s Choral Choir led the rest of the congregation in the renditions that emphasised the role of Godly living and eternal life in Christianity.
\nThe congregation had Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, former governors, members of the Rivers State Executive Council, state and federal legislators, traditional rulers and other prominent Nigerians in attendance.
\nIn a testimony, Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo described late Emmanuel Aguma as a dedicated public servant who worked for the growth of the state.
\nShe said that the Rivers State Executive Council would miss his worthy contributions and commitment to the actualisation of the New Rivers Development Blueprint.
\nSpeaking on behalf of the immediate family, son of the deceased Attorney-General of Rivers State, Mr Chuma Aguma, described his father as someone who loved his family and always defended the interest of his community.
\nHe thanked God for the wonderful life that the late Attorney-General of Rivers State lived and the impact he made on the state.
\nRepresentative of Ogbum-Nu-Abali community, Wori Nyeche said the community and Rivers State lost to the cold hands of death, a man who worked for the empowerment of the less privileged.
\nThe spokesman for the Saint Paul\u2019s Anglican Cathedral, Sir Allwell Ihunda, said the church had lost a good man who supported the growth of the church.
\nIn his sermon, Anglican Bishop of Niger Delta North, Rt Rev Wisdom Ihunwo urged Christians to prepare for death by living worthy lives in line with Biblical tenets.
\nPrayers were said for the repose of the soul of the late Attorney-General of Rivers State, the protection of the Ogbum-Nu-Abali community and the Rivers State Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
