Journalists in the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (The Tide), would soon\u00a0 benefit from the\u00a0 plans by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) The Tide chapel to get electronic\u00a0 working\u00a0 device\u00a0 for members and others.
\nThis was released by The Tide chapel’s\u00a0 scribe, Mr Akujobi Amadi\u00a0 in a chat\u00a0 with newsmen\u00a0 in Port Harcourt recently.
\nHe said that the move was in preparation for the management’s decision to digitalize\u00a0 the corporation.
\nAmadi noted that the plan was to comply\u00a0 with the\u00a0 ongoing global environment digitalisation.
\nAccording to him, reporters should\u00a0 be the first contact when it comes to digitalisation and electronic reporting.
\nHe said that it would be out of place to have analogue\u00a0 reporters while the world has gone beyond such system.
\nThe Tide NUJ scribe, maintained\u00a0 that electronic\u00a0 system of news reporting\u00a0\u00a0 remains the best due to the speed\u00a0 and\u00a0 accuracy\u00a0 attached to it.
\nHe also pointed\u00a0 out that the system enables one to meet up dead\u00a0 and date\u00a0 lines, adding\u00a0 that the paper and pen\u00a0 system was old\u00a0 fashioned.
\nIt was gathered that the NUJ\u00a0 leadership\u00a0 had started\u00a0 sourcing\u00a0\u00a0 for partners who would provide the chosen devices based on installmental\u00a0 payment arrangement.
