{"id":151139,"date":"2017-05-05T04:39:46","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T03:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=151139"},"modified":"2017-05-05T04:33:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-05T03:33:27","slug":"support-wike-to-succeed-sultan-tells-monarchs-as-gov-pledges-to-respect-traditional-institution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=151139","title":{"rendered":"Support Wike To Succeed, Sultan Tells Monarchs &#8230;As Gov Pledges To Respect Traditional Institution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa\u2019ad Abubakar, has enjoined royal fathers in the state to join hands with Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to move the state forward.<br \/>\nAbubakar, who laid the foundation for the construction of a new ultra modern secretariat for the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, lauded Wike for the gesture.<br \/>\nHe described the ground breaking event as historic; pointing out that the edifice will help the traditional rulers carry out their duties to the Rivers people.<br \/>\nAbubakar prayed God to grant Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, the strength to\u00a0 continue to deliver development projects to the people of the state.<br \/>\nIn his address, the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, pledged to accord traditional rulers respect and status due them, and thanked them for the support given to his administration so far.<br \/>\nHe directed the contractor and the Special Adviser on Special Projects, Cyril Dum Witee, to ensure the completion of the project, within six months.<br \/>\nHe said that the contractor has been fully mobilised to deliver the project in record time, adding that his administration will not tolerate excuses.<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cMoney will not be a problem in the completion of this project within the scheduled period.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWe will give the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers a respectable and ultra-modern complex that all Rivers people will be proud of \u201c, he added.<br \/>\nThe governor explained that the State Government resolved to construct a befitting secretariat for the traditional rulers when it was discovered that the existing facility had degenerated to an embarrassing condition.<br \/>\nOn his part, Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers and Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, commended Wike for his decision to construct the\u00a0 edifice for the Rivers traditional rulers.<br \/>\nHe said, \u201cseveral attempts had been made to build a new secretariat for the council in the past but none is far reaching as this.<br \/>\nAlso speaking, Special Adviser on Special Projects to the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Cyril Dum Witee, assured the governor that the project will be completed on schedule and in line with approved specifications.<br \/>\nHe disclosed that the new complex has 20-room offices as against eight in the old one, including a 300-capacity auditorium, a library for 10 persons and an archive.<br \/>\nThe ground breaking event was witnessed by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Amanyanabo of Nembe, King Edmund Dakouru, Rivers State traditional rulers and their counterparts from across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa\u2019ad Abubakar, has enjoined royal fathers in the state to join hands with Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to move the state forward.
