Indigenes of Bonny, Rivers State, working at the Rivers State University of Education (RSUOE), Port Harcourt have donated no fewer than 200 text books covering\u00a0 different subject areas to the institution\u2019s library.<\/p>\n
The university\u2019s library has also been boosted with 10 copies of the work of Prof. Horace Campbell of the Syracuse University, New York, titled, Walter Rodney and Pan-Africanism Today by Prof. Joshua Osah-Ogulu and Dr. Hubert Manilla and six copies of Journal of Vocational and Technical Education.<\/p>\n
Presenting the books to the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rosemund Green-OsahOgulu, last Monday in the Vice Chancellor\u2019s office on behalf of the Bonny people, the University\u2019s Director of Consultancy Services, Dr. Jessica Ezekiel-Hart said the donation was part of the group\u2019s contributions to the success of the administration of the Vice Chancellor\u00a0 who is also a Bonny indigene.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ezekiel-Hart who was flanked by other members of the group rated the performance of Prof. Green-OsahOgulu so far, very highly also assured the university\u2019s helmsman of their continued support in her tireless efforts to uplift the institution, stressing that. \u201cour joy for our sister\u2019s elevation cannot be quantified and we want her to succeed\u201d.<\/p>\n
Also speaking during their own presentation, Prof. Joshua Osah-Ogulu who is the Director of ICT of the university commended the Vice Chancellor\u2019s strides\u00a0 and stated that the school was beginning to experience true university culture following the recent public lecture by Prof. Horace Campbell of Syracuse University, New York and assured that the university community would witness more of such academic tradition.<\/p>\n
In his response on the receipt of the books from the Vice Chancellor, the university\u2019s librarian, Sir Kingsley Orlumati thanked the donors for the gesture and described Bonny people as pace setters.<\/p>\n
He urged others to emulate them and stated that, \u201cthe quality of your library is the quality of your graduates\u201d.<\/p>\n
