Felix Obuah, paid a solidarity visit to him on Monday in Government House, Port Harcourt.<br \/>\nWike said the administration is poised to rid the state of crime and all forms of social vices, saying, \u201cOur position as a government is zero tolerance for crime. We will not hesitate to confiscate or destroy any property linked with crime and so our party members must avoid anything that will smear their name in order not to give opportunity to the opposition.\u201d<br \/>\nThe governor reiterated the resolve of the administration to raise security of lives and property in the state, \u201cRivers State must be peaceful so business and investors can come in\u201d, he stressed.<br \/>\nHe lauded the party executive and members for remaining steadfast and ensuring that the party won all previous elections, pointing out that \u201cyou have shown commitment and seriousness and that is why we are getting results.\u201d<br \/>\nWike passed \u201ca vote of confidence\u201d on the state executive for its hard-work and for remaining glued to the vision and goals of the party.<br \/>\nHe, however, urged them not to rest on their oars ahead the re-run polls slated for July 30, assuring them that the current crisis rocking the national leadership of the party was part of restructuring, as the party was sure to bounce back stronger and more united.<br \/>\nWike used the visit to announce the readiness of the party to participate in the July 30 re-run elections in the remaining eight local governments of Andoni, Bonny, Khana, Gokana, Tai, Eleme, Degema, and Asari-Toru.<br \/>\nCalling on the members to start mobilisation ahead the polls, the governor expressed confidence that the party would sweep the remaining results.<br \/>\nAccording to him, \u201cRivers people will stand by the PDP. This state is a traditional PDP state.\u201d<br \/>\nOn his part, Chairman of the party, Bro. Felix Obuah lauded the governor for his developmental strides and for the successful hosting of the PDP National Convention.<br \/>\nWhile pledging loyalty and support to the governor\u2019s vision and plans for the state, the PDP state executive passed a vote of confidence on the governor for the way he has administered the state in the past one year.<br \/>\nIn the words of Obuah, \u201cYou have performed beyond expectation so the entire PDP executive pass a vote of confidence in your administration.\u201d<br \/>\nThe state PDP chief used the visit to solicit for inclusion of party members in the inspection of state projects, as he informed the governor of the planned formal inauguration of the executive and sought for upgrading of facilities for smooth running of the state secretariat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has called on Peoples\u2019 Democratic Party (PDP) members to steer clear of social vices, as his administration would not spare anybody involved in crime or cultism irrespective of party affiliation or connections.
