{"id":112582,"date":"2015-06-12T07:55:08","date_gmt":"2015-06-12T06:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=112582"},"modified":"2015-06-12T07:55:08","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T06:55:08","slug":"50-schools-hooked-to-covenant-universitys-mobile-learning-device","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetidenewsonline.com\/?p=112582","title":{"rendered":"50 Schools Hooked To Covenant University\u2019s Mobile Learning Device"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Covenant University,<br \/>\nOta, in Ogun State, has said that 50 universities in the country are hooked to the institution\u2019s mobile learning device platform.<br \/>\nThe Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Charles Ayo, disclosed this in Ota at a conference with the theme \u201c Building Thriving Tertiary Institution Using Technology.\u201c<br \/>\nThe Tide source recalls that the mobile learning device was first launched by the institution on May 7, to ease students access to learning.<br \/>\nAyo said that the mobile learning tablet would provide students with the right skills to meet up with their counterparts in developed countries in all areas of learning.<br \/>\nThe vice-chancellor stressed that the strength of any nation depended on the quality of its education.<br \/>\nHe attributed the poor quality of education in Nigeria to the decay in infrastructure.<br \/>\nAlso, Mr Yomi Adedeji, the Managing Partner, Softcom Limited,, said that the conference was to inspire, educate and connect leaders from selected universities on application of modern technology in the education sector, to improve service delivery.<br \/>\nAdedeji disclosed that MTN Nigeria would subsidise the cost of connectivity for the 50 Universities while Diamond Bank would provide them with funds to secure the tablets provided by Samsung.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Covenant University, Ota, in Ogun State, has said that 50 universities in the country are hooked to the institution\u2019s mobile learning device platform.
