OWA Restates Commitment To Peace And Development In Ogoni

Ogoni Welfare Association (OWA) has restated its commitment towards promoting peace, unity and development in Ogoni land.

Chairman of the Lagos chapter of OWA, Engineer Migah Nwinmene gave the hint while speaking with newsmen during a Grand Thanksgiving service to mark  his 50th birthday celebration at Wesley Methodist Church, Harbour road Port Harcourt.

Engineer Migah, said OWA as a body was deeply concerned about the development of Ogoni and has made practical effort to achieve laudable development objectives in the area.

He said the body was engaging all critical stakeholders including the leadership and authorities of the four Local Government Areas of Ogoni to stimulate a thriving economy in Ogoni.

He described Ogoni land as highly  blessed with human and natural resources which can be explored for the overall benefit of the people.

Engineer Migah who is a shrewd educationist and lecturer at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos emphasized the need for youths to embrace education and practical skills to earn sustainable livelihood.

Commenting on the attainment of the golden age, he expressed gratitude to God and said that it will spur him to serve God and humanity with a deep sense of dedication.

The event featured goodwill messages and special prayers for the celebrant and his family by Rt Rev Dr Moses Stephen Ogolo. Bishop of Wesley Diocese.
