Ogun Moves To End Epileptic Power Supply
The Ogun State Government has begun the operation of the Ogun State Electricity Regulatory Commission (OGSERC), charging the administrative team to step up action towards building reliable electricity supply to residents in the state.
The Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, said this in Abeokuta urging OGSERC to live up to its tasks in building an independent electricity market that would protect consumers on fair tariffs and market growth.
“Our interest is to serve the indigenes and residents of Ogun state and not to be a hindrance to the wheel of progress as the Commission is empowered to regulate all electricity providers within the state, we are to collaborate with operators to ensure our people get real value for their money,” Onasanya said.
Also speaking during the meeting, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Dipo Ogunfowora, emphasised that the regulatory framework was the backbone of the State’s economic ambition.
“We are building a power sector that is efficient and capable of supporting our journey toward becoming a true industrial megacity,” he stated.
In her response, Secretary of the Team, Miss. Oluwatoyin Sonoiki, expressed appreciation for the advice, assuring residents that the Commission would operate with dedication to the assigned duty in order to meet up with the desired expectations.
