Toyin Abraham’s latest film, Oversabi Aunty, has crossed the N700 million mark at the Nigerian box office, making it the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time. According to distributor FilmOne Entertainment, the film has earned N711.5 million since its release, reaching the milestone in just 18 days.

The comedy joins a short list of Nollywood titles that have recorded over N700 million in ticket sales. In doing so, Oversabi Aunty has overtaken films such as Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga on the all-time box office chart. The top three spots remain occupied by other major releases, including A Tribe Called Judah, which holds the record as the first Nollywood film to gross over N1 billion.

The Tide Entertainment reports that the film’s performance was boosted by a strong opening weekend, which ranked as the second-highest opening of 2025. This early momentum carried through the holiday period, traditionally one of the most competitive times at the cinemas.

Produced and directed by Toyin Abraham, who also stars in the film, Oversabi Aunty features Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Queen Nwokoye, and Enioluwa Adeoluwa. Its box office run adds to a growing list of high-earning releases from the actress-filmmaker and reflects the continued growth of cinema attendance and big-budget releases within the Nigerian film industry.
