Club President Lauds Fubara Over Development Strides

New President of  Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Senior Staff Club, Comrade Minikwu Macdonald, has lauded Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the resumption of work at the Agbandele- Abua road project in Emohua Local Government Area.
Macdonald, who hails from Rundele community in Emohua Local Government Area said this in an interview with newsmen shortly after his election as President of the Senior Staff Club of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.
He also hailed the Governor for the ongoing electrification of the community.
The president said even though, Rivers State may have lost so much during the six months emergency rule, with the quality of leadership of Governor Fubara, the State will regain everything it has lost.
Meanwhile, Comrade Minikwu Macdonald has promised to make the Ignatius Ajuru University Staff Club the best in the State and Nigeria.
According to him, the quality of services at the club will not only improve but special provisions will be made for Professors, while cost of food and drinks at the club will be reduced.
It would be recalled that Comrade Macdonald  polled a total of 194 votes to defeat his closest rival and incumbent President, Dr Bieye Briggs who scored only 96 votes during the election that took place at the Senior Staff Club.
Also elected is Mr Parker who clinched the Bar Manager position with 170 votes, beating his opponent, Dr Wabah who had 111 votes.
Other positions were returned unopposed including Mrs Gloria Emesiobi who is now the Provost of the Club.
The new president also  commended members of the club and the university management for the confidence reposed on him.
He said special provision will be made for Professors at the university who are members of the club as the club’s new executive will also work with the management of the institution in areas that will be beneficial to members and other staff of the university.
The new president listed the values of staff club to the institution and other institutions across the country, adding that it provids opportunities for members to relax after a hard day’s work.
