Nigeria football legend Victor Ezeji has urge  the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to commence investigation to know the killer of Igenewari George even as it has taken 30 years now.
He stated that it is imperative for the family especially to know exactly what led to the stray bullet that eventually killed the Enugu Rangers player.
Ezeji said this on Saturday in an interview with Sports journalists shortly after playing a memorial football match in honour of Igenewari George among his friends at the Sharks football Stadium in Port Harcourt Rivers State.
He explained that the painful part of the death was that nobody know where the stray bullet came from that killed George, added that it was really a sad moment.
” The painful part of his death was that 30 years no trace  till today we cannot pinpoint who shot the gun.
“Overall I just called some few friends and told them that is 30 years now  our friend George died let us put something together to remember him even though he is no more on earth,  let Nigerians know that we have not forgotten our friend Igenewari George”, Ezeji said.
According to the most decorated player in Nigeria League, there are plans to organise talent discovery programme in his honour.
” Before now we were organising football competition in his honour but violent came into it , so we stopped.
“The bottom line was that we are planning to organise programme for talent discovery because we want to keep his name alive” he stated.
Also speaking former player of the defunct Sharks football club of Port Harcourt Kennedy Okogba described the event as a very good one to remember their friend after 30 years.
He also called on NFF to do the right thing by investigating the death of George, adding that it is sad to note that a player died through stray bullet without identifying the person.
“On that fateful day he was  playing in Enugu and I was playing in Sokoto  same FA cup competition but at different venues, it was there I heard the sad news.
” So let the NFF do something about his death ” he said.
At the end of the game Team Red narrowly win Team Lemon with a goal.
