Estate Developer Tasks IGP, CP On Land Grabbing … Bags World Peace Advocates Award, IAWPA
An Estate Developer in Rivers State, Engr. Stephen Wenenda, has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Rivers State Police Commissioner to intensify efforts towards checking the spate of land grabbing in the state.
He said this shortly after being inaugurated as A World Peace Advocate by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) in Port Harcourt.
Engr. Wenenda also called on the IGP to ensure that nobody uses his name to grab other peoples land, adding that as a UN Peace Ambassador, he is ready to give all his support to ensure peace in the state.
Wenenda also called on the youths to cultivate the virtues of peace and honesty.
Speaking shortly after bagging the award, he said time has come for youths, especially in Rivers State, to avoid things that will bring shame to the society and their families.
According him, being peaceful will not only improve development in the society, but also the nation’s image abroad.
Wenenda noted that he has used his position as a responsible citizen to bring peace to several communities in Rivers state.
According to him, he has assisted in not only ensuring peace in Communities such as Rumuekpe and Egbeda in Emohua Local Government Area, but also rehabilitated youths involved in violence in these Communities.
Speaking during the presentation of the award, the World Peace President from Kingdom of Denmark, His Eminence Ambassador, Per Stafsen, said the appointment was in recognition of Engr. Stephen Wenenda’s contributions to peace in the society.
He particularly commended him for his peace efforts in Rumuekpe and Egbeda communities, all in Rivers State.
