Delta will host 2026 National Youth Games- Oborevwori

?The  Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed readiness for the state to host the 10th edition of the National Youth Games. 

?The Governor made this remark during the closing ceremony of the 9th National Youth Games at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba. 

?In the final medal table, Lagos State emerged champions for the first time, with a total of 110 medals comprising 52 gold, 32 silver, and 26 bronze. Delta State finished second with 114 medals,consisting of 37 gold, 38 silver, and 39 bronze, while Edo State finished third with 79 medals 33 gold, 18 silver, and 28 bronze.

?Delta State had won all the previous eight editions of the cadre sports festival. The national youth games debuted in 2013 at the FCT and thereafter moved to Kwara State,where the University of Ilorin hosted the next five editions in 2016,2017,2018,2019 and 2021,while Delta commenced hosting from the 7th edition in 2023,2024,2025 and billed to host the 10th edition after an MOU was signed with the defunct federal ministry of sports development to host for four years.
