UPTH CMD Bags Chieftaincy Title

The Chief Medical Director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH, Professor Henry Ugboma, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of OGENE of Ndoni Kingdom in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

 

The Awoh of Ndoni, Professor Franklin Odua Chukwuma, performed the colourful chieftaincy ceremony at his palace in Ndoni over the weekend.

 

He also conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of “AKPANUKA of Ndoni” on a front-line politician and a renowned Niger Delta activist, Chief Dennis Obi.

 

Addressing the Council of Chiefs, the Awoh of Ndoni, said the thorough selection and conferment of the duo was in line with his mandatory traditional role.

 

He spotlighted the laudable programmes of the new OGENE of Ndoni, Professor Ugboma in the accelerated development of Ndoni, including the long age outreach health programme being selflessly carried out with God-fearing disposition.

 

The Awoh said that the selection of Professor Ugboma was based on meritorious service to the community, especially the less privileged in society.

 

Speaking afterwards, the new OGENE of Ndoni, Professor Henry Ugboma, and the newly conferred AKPANUKA of Ndoni, Dennis Obi, pledged their unalloyed loyalty and commitment to the socio-economic emancipation of Ndoni Kingdom and thanked the Awoh for the honour done them.
