PH Set to Host  PTR Tennis Certification Course “Morrow”

Precisely, tomorrow Port Harcourt the capital City of Rivers State will host Professional Tennis Registry(PTR) Certification courses, at the Tennis  Section, Port Harcourt Club 1928, 31A Forces Avenue Old GRA.
The course promises to attract coaches,  enthusiasts, and sports stakeholders in tennis from across the country.
Speaking on the significance of the programme over weekend with sports journalists, Coach Lukman Ajibose , who is the organiser of the event  said the course would be led by PTR Coach Developer, Coach Abel Ubiebi (USA), and bring world-class expertise and hands-on instruction directly to Nigerian coaches.
According to Ajibose, who is an ITF and PTR certified professional said the course will commence 2nd through 5th September, and it is the first time in the South -South region in Nigeria.
“This is more than a course; it is a life-changing opportunity for Nigerian coaches. PTR Certification is recognized in over 125 countries, giving coaches global access to professional opportunities. Beyond the certification, participants will learn modern coaching techniques that will improve the quality of tennis instruction in Nigeria.
“This certification will boost tennis development in Port Harcourt, the South–South region, and Nigeria at large by raising the standard of coaching and inspiring more young players to pursue the sport”, Ajibose said.
The host further disclosed that
special cardio/high-performance coaching workshop  will kick off September 6, 2025, for coaches and fitness trainers who wish to broaden their expertise, as participants will benefit from networking opportunities, professional development, and recognition as part of an international coaching community.
He said  the course  is Six hundred and fifty thousand Naira (?650,000) which covers the training and official certification. compared to international costs of $1,500–$2,500 plus flights and hotels, the Port Harcourt edition provides an affordable, world-class alternative right here at home.
