Nigeria must be secure for development to thrive – COAS
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has said national development depends on the country’s security.
Speaking during an operational assessment visit to Kebbi State, Abubakar said the Nigerian Air Force remained committed to protecting lives and property.
“Our commitment is clear: we will locate and root out all criminal elements threatening the peace and safety of law-abiding citizens. Nigeria must be secure for development to thrive. Protecting the lives and property of Nigerians remains a non-negotiable priority for the Nigerian Air Force,” a statement on Sunday by the NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame quoted Abubakar as saying.
He noted that Kebbi’s border with the Republics of Benin and Niger and its vast rural terrain required increased vigilance. He also said the Air Force would intensify intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations in the state.
“Kebbi shares international borders with the Republics of Benin and Niger and has vast rural terrains that demand heightened security vigilance.
