Monarch Describes Oyigbo Internal Road As Dead Trap.

The Paramount Ruler of Oyigbo Urban in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Kingsley Akobundu Nwogu, Eze Oha IV, has described the deplorable state of internal roads in Oyigbo Urban as a dead trap.
Eze Nwogu said the deplorable condition of the roads was the major reason for the flooding situation in araa.
He called on the Rivers State Government to be proactive in fixing the bad roads in the area.
Eze Nwogu, who noted the several complains and negligence of past governments of the flood situation in Oyigbo, noted that “it is the duty of a responsible government to find a lasting solution to the problem of flooding in the state.”
 He called for the construction of more drainages and channels to reduce flooding and bad roads in the area.
He also called on the State Government to come to the rescue of the people over by taking care of flooding and bad roads in oyigbo Urban.
He lamented that his palace has become an internally Displaced Persons camp (IDP) because of flooding.
According to him, some of the residents in Oyigbo had relocated following the increase in flood as a result of the rains.
He said many residents have taken shelter in the community halls and churches.
The Monarch also confirmed relief materials sent to affected people annually.
