Gokana, Khana AllStars Friendly Match Excites Chairman
The Chairman of Gokana AllStars FC, in Rivers State,
Lucky Naduba was excited after a friendly football match between his team and Khana All Stars, as he said the match was geared towards building new friendship.
He explained that the scoreline of the encounter was not the ultimate goal, but caused of his happiness was both communities coming together, exchange pleasantries and foster unity.
Naduba who is popularly known as Awize-awize, said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, at weekend , shortly after the match, which saw Khana AllStars narrowly defeated Gokana AllStars 3-2 at the Mogo primary school field in Gokhana LGA.
“We decided to come together to see what we can do to bring our people together. So forming the AllStars FC is one of the important things we have done and today you can see how happy we are during and after the game.
“What we have done now would be a different ball game when we visit Khana AllStars. We the Gokana football players and Khana players use to organize football matches, when Wifa was alive and we play football together” Naduba said.
He commended Khana All Stars for honouring the invite in spite the fact that the game was rescheduled due to the dead of one of their members.
” What you guy did is exactly what we used to do before, our next game we will play drums and dance round the town.
” We are going to do the right thing to attract people to join the club, so that the club will increase in number. We are also going to do what we usually do in Port Harcourt ” he stated.
Also speaking the captain of Khana AllStars FC Great Birabe thanked the Chairman of Gokana AllStars for the warm reception and expressed commitment to do same when they will host them.
