Again Gunmen Attack Sen. Natasha’s Home In Kogi
The family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, was attacked last Tuesday night by gunmen.
According to a statement by the senator’s media team, the gunmen were eventually repelled by security forces.
The attackers arrived in large numbers and began smashing windows and destroying valuables at the senator’s ancestral home. Their assault was interrupted by a swift response from local police officers, community vigilantes, and youths from the area.
One suspect was arrested at the scene while others reportedly fled. The arrested individual, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, is believed to be a native of the community and is allegedly linked to influential political figures. He was said to have confessed to being involved in three separate attacks on the senator’s family compound.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect was nearly lynched by an angry mob before being rescued and taken into police custody. A cutlass and items suspected to be charms were recovered from him, while others believed to be armed with dangerous weapons remain at large.
Tuesday’s incident marks the second attack in recent months. On April 15, 2025, the same residence was targeted, though no arrests were made at the time.
