Bayelsa PDP Crisis Deepens As Factional CTC Sacks Party Management Structure
The factional South-South Zonal Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in Bayelsa State, Barrister George Turnah, has announced the dissolution of all standing, management, directorates and ad hoc committees of the party established by the Solomon Agwanana-led State Working Committee (SWC).
In a statement dated 25th April, 2025, and issued by the Publicity Secretary of the party’s CTC, Derri Alasuote Wright, the Committee Chairman, Turnah, was quoted as expressing gratitude to all those affected for the dedication and service rendered to the party during their tenure.
The CTC urged those affected to handover properties of the party in their possessions to the CTC Secretary before the close of work on Monday, 28th April, 2025.
The statement reads, “The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, George Turnah, has approved the dissolution of all standing and ad hoc committees established by the previous State Working Committee led by Chief Solomon Agwanana effective Friday, April 25, 2025.
“This decision also includes the dissolution of all political appointees and management staff in the categories of Directors of Directorates and Heads of Departments within the administrative structure of the party in the State.
“The caretaker chairman expressed gratitude to all individuals affected by this decision for their dedicated service to the party in their respective capacities and wishes them success in their future endeavours.
“Those affected are by this announcement directed to handover all party property in their possession to the Secretary, Caretaker Committee of the Party before close of work on Monday, 28th April, 2025 unfailingly”.
